Do you want to take a screenshot of your Windows or some of the application to share it online? There are a number of ways to take a screenshot of entire Windows desktop, part of the screen, or a window or a rectangle area that you want to capture.
Print Screen
You can capture the entire desktop screen without using any tools. Just press the Windows key+Print screen buttons to automatically capture the entire screen. The captured screenshot is automatically saved in the clipboard to save it, open an image editor program (say, Windows Paint) and paste it on the software. You can use the Ctrl+V shortcut to paste it on the image editor program.
Snipping tool
Windows Snipping tools is easy to use screen capture program with all the essential features. It supports different mode (type) of capturing functionality. The Free-form Snip: just draw a free-form shape around an object to capture a Free-form snip. The Rectangular snip: Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle. Window snip: Select a window, such as a dialog box, that you want to capture. Full-screen Snip: It captures the entire screen. You can delay the capture up to 5 seconds.
Snip & Sketch
You can get this app from the Microsoft Store. The Snip & Sketch app is originally introduced as part of the Windows Ink Workspace under the name ‘Screen Sketch’. The Snip & Sketch app will show up on the taskbar and also in the task switcher (Alt+tab) enables multi-tasking. You can set the window size and supports multiple windows. If you want to quickly snip and share a screenshot, press the Windows key + Shift + S to bring up a snipping toolbar, now use it to snip a rectangle or full screen and it will directly go to your clipboard.
You can check the tools and familiarize yourself with different modes to get better results. The Print screen method can be applied to any version of Windows. The Print Screen button is usually placed in the upper right-hand corner of the keyboard, you can easily find the button near to Scroll lock and Pause/Break button. On some keyboards, the Print Screen key may be labeled as PrintScreen, PrntScrn, PrntScr, PrtScn, PrtScr, PrtSc or a similar abbreviation.
