   Most of the latest laptop have HDMI port. In the following screenshot you can see an HDMI port, then a S-Video port, and a VGA port can also seen. Of these ports, VGA port is commonly available in most laptop and most TV sets have also a VGA port in TV. Only thing you need is a VGA cable. A Video Graphics Array (VGA) connector is a three-row 15-pin DE-15 connector, simply connect the VGA cable with your TV and laptop.

   S-Video port can be connected to the S-Video input of the TV screen using a cheap S-Video cable. The 15-pin VGA cable to connect the computer to the TV and it will offer better picture quality than the S-Video cable. The S-Video port is found on most laptops with TV-out functions, and can connect your laptop to both analogue and digital TVs. Bit it doesn’t provide High Definition (HD) quality. It only carries the video signal and you’ll need a separate audio cable typically from your laptop’s 3.5mm headphone jack to the audio inputs on your TV.

Vga-cable     Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video display interface DVI was developed to create an industry standard for the transfer of digital video content. The interface is designed to transmit uncompressed digital video and can be configured to support multiple modes such as DVI-D (digital only), DVI-A (analog only), or DVI-I (digital and analog). Some HD TVs and laptop computers have DVI ports, a DVI Cable or a DVI to HDMI Adapter cable can be used to connect if the TV set have a HDMI connector. The DVI to HDMI cable can be used if the TV doesn’t have an DVI port but does have an HDMI port. For sound, you need a 3.5mm mini plug to RCA Cable Stereo to connect the audio line out from computer to your TV. The red cable connect to the red socket of your TV, the black connector to the black socket and the black connector connect to the 3.5mm headphone jack of your laptop computer.

      HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transferring uncompressed digital audio/video data from an HDMI-compliant device. HDMI is a digital replacement for existing analog video standards. But if your laptop and TV set have HDMI port use an HDMI cable to view HD video. There are also HDMI to VGA and DVI to VGA adapters available. HDMI/DVI to VGA adapters do not carry the audio channel so a separate audio cables are used. HDMI is electrically compatible with the CEA-861 signals used by digital visual interface (DVI), no signal conversion is necessary, nor is there a loss of video quality when a DVI-to-HDMI adapter is used.
