The driver is a piece of software supplied by the hardware manufacturer to install in your system to assist your computer to talk with the plugged-in hardware. Most of the problems related to connected devices arise from a missing driver or an outdated driver. So you need to install the exact driver provided by the manufacturer and need to update frequently.

If you are using Windows 10, the drivers for the printer, network cards, monitor, graphics and video cards are automatically downloaded and installed through the Windows Update. If you are updating your Windows OS, you probably have the most recent drivers in your system. You can also manually update or reinstall a driver.

Windows Update
In Windows 10, the update will find the latest drivers and update automatically with Windows 10 updates. To update Windows 10, go to
Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update. Windows will check and download the installation files (depends on the speed of your internet connection) to update the system.

Manually update the device driver
To update the driver by yourself, type device manager in the search box on the taskbar, then select the Device Manager. Select the category that you want to update the driver, then right-click the device that you want to update. In the pop-up menu, select Update Driver. Select Search automatically to find the recent driver software. If Windows doesn’t find a new driver, visit the device manufacturer’s website to download the latest driver and follow the instructions to install the driver. Before downloading the driver, ensure that the new version is compatible with your installed operating system, type of OS (32-bit or 64-bit) and with the model number or version of your hardware.

Reinstall the device driver
If you noticed some problems with the existing installed driver, you can remove it and reinstall a new one to fix the issue. Sometimes, the installed driver is the latest one but not compatible with your device. In this case, you need to re-install the driver by yourself. Search for the device manager in the search box on the taskbar to view the Device Manager. In the Device Manager, right-click the name of the device that you want to make changes, and select Uninstall in the pop-up menu. After uninstalling restart your computer to take effect. After restarting, the Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver. If it cannot you can download it from the manufacturer’s site, and follow their instructions to install it.
