Google made a bold move on Wednesday by introducing its new social networking service-called Google Plus. Google introduced this full fledged social network service to beat Facebook, which has now the biggest share in the social networking segment. After Larry page took over as chief executive of Google in the April 1, social network was made as a top priority in Google.
New features in Google Plus?
The first thing that we noticed in Google plus is Google circles. This is one of the best things we can expect from a social network, and we are looking for. Why it is so important?
+Circles: share what matters, with the people who matter most.
Not all relationships are created equal. So in life we share one thing with college buddies, another with parents, and almost nothing with our boss. The problem is that today’s online services turn friendship into a fast food—wrapping everyone in “friend” paper—and sharing really suffers: In light of these shortcomings Google asked themselves, “What do people actually do?” And they didn’t have to search far for the answer. People, in fact, share selectively all the time—with their circles From. close family to foodies, Google found that people already use real-life circles to express themselves, and to share with precisely the right folks. So they did the only thing that made sense: Google brought Circles to software.
+Sparks: strike up a conversation, about pretty much anything
Healthy obsessions inspire sharing, great content leads to great conversations. Maybe it’s cars, or comic books, or fashion, but the attraction is always the same: it comes up in conversation. With sparks you can enter an interest. Google goes out and finds elements on the web that they think you’ll be interested in.
+Hangouts: stop by and say hello, face-to-face-to-face.
Whether it’s inside a club or on a room, human beings have always enjoyed hanging out. By combining the casual meet up with live multi-person video. Hangouts lets you stop by when you’re free, and spend time with your Circles. Google plus makes video chat so easy.
+Huddle
Coordinating with friends and family in real-time is really hard in real life. After all, everyone’s on different schedules, in different places, and plans can change at any moment. Phone calls and text messages can work in a pinch, but they’re not quite right for getting the gang together. Huddle, a group messaging experience that lets everyone inside the circle knows what’s going on.
+Mobile: share what’s around, right now, without any hassle.
These days a phone is the perfect sharing accessory: it’s always with you. It’s always online, and it’s how we stay close with our closest friends. We didn’t want “just” a mobile experience. However, so with Google+ focused on things (like GPS, cameras, and messaging) to make your pocket computer even more personal.
Google Sandbar
You probably noticed a black toolbar appearing across on top of all Google service, which is code named as ‘sandbar’. The toolbar is an attempt to unify all Google projects.
That’s the Google+ project so far: Circles, Sparks, Hangouts and mobile. However, to join Google plus at this time one needs an invitation. There is an option to join Google Plus through our existing Google account, but due to testing of the Google plus service Google is giving an invitation to only a few people. You can register in Google plus for getting a free invitation from Google.
