Clearing browsing history is useful to create your browsing history private and also free up disk space on your computer. You can easily remove your browsing history by yourself. The method to remove history may vary from browser to browser. If you don’t want to keep your browsing history you can use the browser in private with Incognito mode. Almost all web browsers have an Incognito mode. To use the Incognito mode, at the top right click More>New Incognito Window. You can see a new window with an Incognito icon.
Google Chrome
In Google Chrome to remove history, goto More at the top-right edge of the browser (the three vertical dots). In the pop-up window click History. Chrome history will be displayed (chrome://history/). Click on Clear browsing data. A pop-up box will be displayed showing Basic or Advanced options. In the time range, you can select how much history you want to delete. To clear everything, select All time. Click clear data to clear the browsing history. In the Basic section, the browsing history, cookies, other site data, Cached images, and files will be deleted. In the Advanced section, the download history, passwords, autofill form data, content settings, and hosted app data will be deleted. If you don’t want to delete the entire categories, you can pick the items that you want to delete like pages you visited, download files, saved passwords, cookies from a website, and autofill entry.
Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Edge browser also stores information to make it easier to return your favorite sites or to fill in forms. The browsing history, passwords, information files on forms are stored in your browser. To clear browsing history, in Edge browser goto Favorites at the top right corner of the browser. Click History in the box. Then select Clear History. Select the type of data that you want to clear from your browser. Select Clear to clean history. You can delete browsing history, cookies and saved website data, Cached data and files, download history, autofill data, passwords, media licenses, and website permissions from your browser.
Mozilla Firefox
Firefox also stores information about the site that you visited, files you have downloaded and other information. You can remove browsing and download history, form and search history, cookies, cache, active logins, offline website data and site preferences. To clear the browsing history click the Library button, click History and then click Clear Recent history… Select how much history you want to clear. You can set to automatically clear the browsing history by Firefox browser. To enable it, click the Menu button, select Options. Then select the Privacy and Security from the left panel and go to the History section by scrolling down. In the drop-down menu next to the Firefox will select Never remember history. If you want to clear history when the Firefox web browser closes, in the drop-down menu next to the Firefox will choose Use custom settings for history. In the new checkboxes, check the box for Clear history when Firefox closes. To specify the type of history that you wanted to be cleared by clicking the Settings button next to Clear history when Firefox closes. After selecting the history to be cleared click OK button to close the window.
