Restore Whatsapp messages
Sometimes you need to restore your messages like you have purchased a new handset and decided to freshly install Whatsapp. Most of us may not know that WhatsApp automatically makes a backup every day at 3 AM and stores them in the WhatsApp folder on our Android phone. This folder is located in our mobiles internal memory or in our external SD card. WhatsApp could also make a backup to Google Drive if you enabled it in the settings. To restore the most recent backup, you will need to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.Before uninstalling, copy the databases from the Whatsapp>Database folder, and restore it. Whatsapp will automatically ask to restore chat, once it noticed a backup. Click Restore when prompted to restore your chats. Now your chats should appear in the new WhatsApp.

Turn Off Automatic Image Download
If your data tariff is limited automatically downloading pictures, videos and audio files will ruin your data download limit. To Stop the WhatsApp application to stop the automatic download of pictures, videos, and audio files, go to Whatsapp configuration.
Settings –> Media Settings –> Media Auto-download-> Check the appropriate option “When Connected to Wi-Fi’,’ “When using mobile data”. If you have any access to free Wi-Fi in your office or institution, you can select the “When Connected to Wi-Fi’, select “All Media”. Also “When using mobile data”, select “No media”. This will preserve your valuable Mobile data pack.
Hide Last Seen In WhatsApp
Timestamp Last seen gives an idea about when a person is online, or when he was last online. It’s a nice feature, but it reveals your privacy, it simply says that you are online and available. You can not hide from annoying persons and they may start to talk to you. In the New Whatsapp, go to “Privacy Settings”, Last Seen>>’ Nobody’, “Profile Photo”>> ‘Nobody’, Status>>’ Nobody’.

Calculate WhatsApp Statistics
To Know your Whatsapp statistics use the WhatStat app application. If you just want to know the messages sent/ receive today or the last 7 days. Go to Settings >> Account >> Network Usage. You will see the message sent/received, media bytes sent/received byte message sent/received.
Change your Whatsapp friend’s Profile Picture
First, select an image to use. Change the size to 561 x 561 pixels and the name of the image is your friend’s cell phone number. Now save the image to the WhatsApp >> Profile Pictures. If a profile picture exists, overwrite the existing file. Now the friend’s pic is replaced with the new profile picture. Disable WiFi/data connection to WhatsApp, WhatsApp will automatically update the pic when a new message is available.
Save WhatsApp Messages
Sometimes you need to get details of your WhatsApp chat, or sometimes you want to send the chat conversation to your friend. Choose “Email Conversation” from the same menu to choose a chat to forward to an email address.
To do this Go to Settings > Media Settings > Back-Up Conversations to do a manual backup.
How can we tell if someone has read your message?
If you’re keen to check whether your message is read or not. Just view the conversation and look for the blue ticks and you know whether it’s been read (if they have ‘read receipts’ turned on). If you enable “Read receipts”, if you turn off read receipts, you won’t be able to see read receipts from other people.
If you see two blue check marks next to your sent message, then the recipient has read your message. In a group chat or broadcast message, the checkmarks will turn blue when every participant has read your message.
Change Whatsapp Mobile Number
Did you get a new number and want to replace your Whatsapp account with the new number, go to Settings>> Account>> “Change My Number”, to change your account phone number. Changing your account number will migrate your account info, groups, and settings. But before proceeding, confirm you are able to receive SMS or calls at your new number.
