How to Add Serial Numbers in Google Sheet

Google sheet is a free spreadsheet program offered by Google. You can create and edit spreadsheets using the web-based Google Docs editor suite. In a spreadsheet, the serial number is the most used and one of the important columns. You will need a serial number in a spreadsheet irrespective of the type of data you are processing. Adding serial numbers manually is the straightforward way of adding the serial number in a spreadsheet. ut it is a time-consuming task if the spreadsheet has hundreds of datasets. Here are some methods to automatically add serial numbers to your Google sheet.

In Google Sheets, each spreadsheet contains default row numbers that can work as serial numbers. You can easily add serial numbers for large datasets using Fill handle. The Fill handle tool is a handy tool to autocomplete the serial numbers using your computer mouse.

Using Fill Handle
In the sheet, use the Fill handle and left mouse key to drag the cells down and fill the cells with a list of sequential numbers. A minimum of two cells are required to define the sequence required, so type the first two serial numbers manually. Select the cells containing these two manually entered serial numbers. You will see a blue solid square box (Fill Handle) appear on the bottom right-hand side of the selection. Keep the mouse on the Fill handle, then hold the left mouse key and drag the mouse cursor at the end of your dataset (till you required), to fill the cells a sequence of numbers. Google sheet can automatically fill the cells sequentially by 1 unit.

For example, In cell A1, enter 1, in cell A2, enter 2, select both the cells. Place the cursor at the bottom-right corner of the selection. The cursor would change into a plus icon (this is called the Fill Handle) Double-click using the mouse (or left-click and drag till you want the numbers).

Google Earth is a Google Project that renders a three dimensional representation of our earth using satellite imagery. The revamped version of Google earth home screen welcomes you with our blue planet floating in the dark space. You can see a menu on left side, navigate through the wonders of the earth. In the left side menu, we can see a ship’s wheel icon called Voyager, take you to the world of curated content. By digitally stitching together billions of satellite and aerial images, Google earth presents an interactive map to the users. You can virtually tour the world using a collection of map-based stories. You can search for topics like travel, culture, nature, and history in Google Earth.

In the browser open the Google Earth. On the left menu, Click Voyager (Navigation Wheel icon), select a subject, like Nature or History. You can explore the world in 3D using 3D imagery in Google Earth. On clicking the Voyager, you can see the top menu with Editors Pick, Games, Layers, Street view, Nature, Culture, Travel and Education links.It is really interesting to watch ‘Read the ABCs from Space‘ in the Education menu. You can see an English alphabet to be found in the land forms of the Earth using NASA satellite imagery and astronaut photography.

Type in Your Language Using Google Input Tools

Do you want to type in your language? Tired of using old translation tools? Here is a new solution from Google. Google Input Tools lets you type in your language using the input tools. Google Input Tools makes it easy to enter text in the languages, switch to typing in a different language with the click of the mouse, and switch back to the first is also easily. The Google Input Tools provides virtual keyboards for over 90 languages, full IMEs or direct transliteration for over 30 different scripts, and handwriting input for over 40 languages.

If you are using the chrome browser, then you can use the chrome extension of Google input tools. First install the extension, click on the extension icon, then select ‘Extension Options’ in the pop-up menu. A new tab will appear,there you can select your preferred languages or input methods. The keyboards, IMEs or handwriting input you add to ‘Selected input tools’ can be enabled at any time from the extension itself. You can always return to this options page to add, remove, or change the order of your input tools. After installing, you can use the Google input tool by simply clicking the extension icon appears on the browser, then select the desired language tool in the pop-up menu, then click on any text box on the web page. You can now type on your selected language. To turn off an input tool, click on the extension icon and select the ‘Turn Off’ option. To use transliteration, type languages phonetically in English letters, and they’ll appear in their correct alphabet. You may also noticed the translate function in Google in some selected languages. But transliteration is different from translation. In transliteration the sound of the words is converted from one alphabet to the other, not the meaning.

To use handwriting input, select the handwriting input of your desired language. Press trackpad or left click of mouse to hand draw a character on the pop-up handwriting panel. Select the character from the suggestion list, or press ENTER or SPACE key to select the first suggestion. Input Tools embedded in Google products has consistent keyboard shortcuts. To toggle the selected input tool: press Cmd + Shift + K on Mac or Ctrl + Shift + K on a PC. But Input Tools Chrome extension has different keyboard shortcuts, which is mentioned below.

Input Tools Chrome extension-Keyboard Shortcuts:

SHIFT – Toggle between active/inactive state for all transliteration (IME) tools

ALT+SHIFT – Switch to next input tool in the list (if the extension is off, turn it on; if the current input tool is the last tool in the list, turn the extension off)

CTRL+SPACE – Revert to the last input tool used (if none, turn off the extension)

SHIFT+SPACE – Toggle the SBC/DBC mode (Chinese input tools only)

CTRL+PERIOD – Toggle Chinese / European language punctuation (Chinese input tools only)

Google’s New Medical Symptom search

Google has updated it’s search result. If your searching for a medical symptom Google shows the possible answers related to the symptom. For a search that seems to be about medical symptoms, Google algorithms analyze the web search results to find health conditions that may be related to the symptoms in the query. If a certain condition is mentioned more often than others in the web search results for a given search, that condition is more likely to be included in the list of conditions provided. To learn more about the health condition, all you need is to click on any of the health conditions.

You may wonder from where the Google gets these information. The answer list of possible conditions comes from an analysis of the web search results for the given search. If you think you might have a medical condition you do not rely on the results for a diagnosis. Google in it’s site provided an answer for that question, “No. We hope you’ll find this useful, but the results here are a general reflection of content on the web, not medical advice. If you’re concerned about a medical condition, please consult a healthcare professional.”

In short this small search tip will help you to find the medical condition based on the symptoms. But we request you to not rely these answers only, instead if you’re concerned about a medical condition, it is better to consult a healthcare professional. The search tips helps you to get a general information about related health condition, but the answer may not be the exact medical condition. The only advantage of the search tweak is it will surely saves your time and you don’t want to open and read a few websites to find the answer.

Google’s Chrome browser becomes one of the popular browser of netizens due to its fast rendering engine. The browser interface is simple, so an inexperienced user can also use it well. The power of the browser lies in the huge number of extensions that are available for free. The extension helps users to do advanced tasks easily without using expensive software. One can use apps anywhere and from any computer that has a good internet connection.

Wondering, how to see the source of a Google chrome extension. It’s easier than you think. chrome browser allows anyone having a good experience in programming, to create a nice extension easily. The samples and source code are the essential tools to master the extension building process. For this purpose you can peep in to well built extensions, to learn the technique and programming method adopted by the experienced programmer. So you can easily implement it on your own projects.

Chrome extension bear a CRX extension. The CRX files can easily handle as like any compressed file like zip or rar files. After downloading the extension (*.crx file ), simply change the file extension to zip or rar, which helps you to extract the files easily. This is the easiest method.

If you couldn’t download an extension, then there is another way, if you are having a chrome browser installed on your system. Go to “ C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions”, you can see the extensions installed as folders. In the place of ‘Name’ use your administrator or user name.
