Password protection is the best and easy method to lock your digital accounts. Passwords allow us the freedom to enter …

Password protection is the best and easy method to lock your digital accounts. Passwords allow us the freedom to enter it whenever needed, so we don’t want to carry any physical equipment to unlock our account. Our online accounts, social media networks, emails everything is protected with a password. You can add a password to your Windows 10 operating system too. If you forgot or lost your password you may be able to change or reset the password.

Add a Windows 10 Password
You can add a password to your Windows 10 to protect it from unauthorized use. To add a password go to Start Menu>Settings>Accounts>Sign-in options. Under the Password, click Add to add a password. If you entered a password earlier, the Password option becomes to change your account password. If you are adding the password for the first time, hit Add, and in Create a Password, enter the password that you want to use. You can provide a password hint to remember the password in case you have forgotten your password.

Change Windows 10 Password
To change the Windows 10 password, go to Start Menu>Settings>Accounts>Sign-in options. Under Password, select the Change button to change the existing password. If you have forgotten your Windows 10 password and no idea to recollect the password back, you can use answer the security questions to sign back in. In the login screen, enter an incorrect password if you’ve forgotten the password. Select the reset password link on the sign-in screen. Answer your security questions, after successful answering, you can enter a new password. You can use this new password to log in. So, it is highly important to use proper security questions that you always remember.

Disable Windows 10 Password
You can disable Windows 10 login password if you don’t want to use it. To disable the password, just type netplwiz into the search Window or the
Cortana box. In the pop-up window, uncheck the box next to the Users must enter a username and password to use this computer, click OK to apply the changes. You need to enter your current password twice and then click OK to save the changes.

A password will block unauthorized access to your system if you are using your system in a public environment or in your office. You can quickly lock your pc if you are leaving your system for a while.

Lock Windows 10 PC
You can lock your Windows 10 PC using Windows Key+L Key on your keyboard. You can also lock the system by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys. On the menu, click Lock. You can lock your system by clicking the Start button>Click your user icon>Lock. If you are using a screensaver, on the screen saver settings check (tick) the option On resume, display logon screen, then click Ok. Windows locking option is highly useful to protect your current working windows or applications from accidentally closing without saving the changes. When I am leaving my system for a while, I just hit the Windows Key+L key to lock the system. This will protect the system from others if you have a Windows10 password. If you have kids in your home and you are working from home, this simple trick may save a lot of time.

These days, it is very difficult to get free food. But it is very easy to get free online tools …

These days, it is very difficult to get free food. But it is very easy to get free online tools and services. You have a number of email accounts in different platforms, a number of social networking account on different platforms, you have free Gigabits of the storage account as your own, you have a free operating system on your phone, you can use a lot of free internet web browsers, free office tools, and you can even get free WiFi from public WiFi services.

Amazing! why people are giving everything for free. If they want to provide something free, definitely that will be free food. But no one ready to offer it free. That means there is something behind every free service. These services need your information, like your browsing history, your shopping history, your interests, and a lot more. Why they need it? They want to show relevant advertisements relevant to you. So your browsers, your search engine, the social websites you are visiting, all are looking for your information.

So, you want to do some private browsing, don’t worry, every web browser has an Incognito mode to keep your privacy. You need to use the incognito window to run a separate browser window. In incognito mode the browser doesn’t save your browsing history, cookies, visited site information, and the form fields. So how to use Incognito mode in each browser.

Chrome
(https://www.google.com/chrome/)
Chrome is the popular browser amount of internet users due to the simplicity and fast browsing capability. In your Google Chrome browser at the top right corner, click the three dots (more). Click More>New incognito Window, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+n. A new window appears, check for the Incognito icon at the top right corner to ensure that the new window is open in incognito mode. You can switch between Incognito windows and regular browser window. In the same way in your smartphone, in the Android Chrome browser, at the top of the address bar, you can click More to see the New Incognito Tab option.

Firefox
(https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/)
Private browsing does not save any information related to your browsing history, so no one can find any trace after ending your browsing session. This will ensure and prevents the trackers from collecting your data from the browser. You can access the Private window (Firefox term for Incognito mode) by clicking the Open menu button at the top right corner of the Firefox browser, click New Private Window in the open menu, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shit+P. If you want to open a link in a private window while you are browsing on a normal window, just Right-click on the link and select Open Link in New Private Window.

Microsoft Edge
(https://www.microsoft.com/edge)
In the Edge browser, incognito mode is termed as InPrivate mode. You can protect your browsing history, temporary internet files, and cookies using the InPrivate tabs. In Microsoft Edge, select Settings and More at the top right corner of the browser window and click New InPrivate Window, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+P.

Opera Browser
(https://www.opera.com/)
Opera is a free and fast browser offering an integrated Virtual Private Network (VPN) facility to secure your internet searching. You can access the Private window in opera by going to Menu at the top left corner of the browser, click File>New Private Window, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shit+N.

As you can see in all browsers there is a private window mode to ensure more privacy for your browsing activities and it is located at the menu settings at the top right corner of each browser. Even if you are using the Incognito or Private browsing mode, your internet service provider, or your employer or the internet network provider can gather the information.

Even after several repeated security breaches reported on various websites, people are still using weak passwords for their online accounts. …

Even after several repeated security breaches reported on various websites, people are still using weak passwords for their online accounts. Internet security is a serious issue and weak passwords are the major reason for most security-related issues. If your password is ‘123145’ or ‘123456789’ or ‘qwerty’ or ‘11111’ or ‘abc123’ or ‘password1’ it is the time to change it immediately. There are a number of passwords that are frequently used by thousands of users are easy to guess. some of them are ‘iloveyou’, ‘dragon’, ‘monkey, ‘password’, ‘welcome’ and ‘superman’. You can see the list of most common passwords in Wikipedia. Check whether you are using the same change your passwords immediately to protect your accounts.

To secure your online accounts you should use highly secure and difficult to guess passwords using the combination of lower and upper case letters, numbers, punctuation, and symbols. There are different ways to obtain a password like the Brute force method, dictionary attack, phishing, etc. In Brute force attach the hackers to use some software to try different combinations of letters to find yours. In a dictionary attack, the attacker uses a list of prearranged words such as words in a dictionary. The phishing method will use to obtain your password using some mimicking links of you online or bank accounts. Here are some password generators to generate secure random passwords by just clicking a button.

Passwordsgenerator
(https://passwordsgenerator.net/)
To protect your passwords from being hacked by brute force or dictionary attack method do not use the same password, security question and answer for multiple online accounts. This site will help you to generate random passwords with symbols, numbers, lowercase characters, and uppercase characters.

LastPass
(https://www.lastpass.com/)
Some studies reveal that 80% of hacking-related breaches are due to weak or stolen passwords. LastPass password generator helps you to generate impossible-to-crack passwords using numbers, letters, and symbols. The password generator tool from LastPass runs locally on your Windows, Mac or Linux computer, and on your iOS or Android device.

Create a secure password
To create a strong password you should consider a few things. You should use a password that has at least 16 characters, use at least one number, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one special symbol. The more type of special symbols in your password the attacker needs more tries and computing resources to guess your credentials. Most sites have features to block multiple password attempts. The more complex is your password the more difficult to guess it.

It is advisable, not to use the names of your families, friends or pets, postcodes, house numbers, phone numbers, birthdates, ID card numbers, social security numbers in your passwords. Try not to log in to important accounts on the computers of others, or on public Wi-Fi hotspot, free VPN or web proxy. Do not send sensitive information online via unencrypted connections. Try to use encrypted connections such as HTTPS whenever possible. I strongly recommended changing your passwords every 10 weeks. Do not use common dictionary words as your passwords, because it is easy to guess. Use different passwords for different accounts.

Turn on 2-step authentication if available. Don’t leave your devices unlocked when you are away, lock your computer and mobile phone when you leave them. Do not share your passwords with anybody in the email. Encrypt and backup your passwords to different locations, if you lost access to your computer or account, you can easily retrieve your passwords. There are some password managers available to store your passwords like Google password manager. Google password manager helps you to view and manage passwords you’ve saved in Chrome or Android.

Are you plan to sell your old phone or laptop to buy a brand new phone with the latest features? …

Are you plan to sell your old phone or laptop to buy a brand new phone with the latest features? Possibly, the next thing you will do is delete all photos, videos, files, messages, and data from your phone. Some people may perform a factory reset to clean up the phone. But, remember, the new user can still access almost all your information from a used phone using recovery software. So how to securely delete all information from your phone in such a way that the new user cannot retrieve it from your phone. Here are the tips to do it.

Android operating system (OS) rules the smartphone world as 87% of smartphones used Android as OS. Before deleting the data from your Android phone, first back up the data that you actually need.

Backup Phone/Tablet
You can back up your files using Settings>Accounts and backup>Backup and restore>Back up data. You can backup content, setting, and data from your phone to your Google or Samsung account. You can restore the backed-up data to your new phone. But you can’t restore the backup from a higher Android version phone to a lower Android version phone. To back up your data using Google account, turn on Back up my data, then select an account to backup files. Then click the Google Account, in Backup, turn on Back up to Google drive. You can see the active backups like App data, call history, contacts, device settings, SMS text messages. In accounts and backup, there is a Smart Switch option in the Samsung phone. You can transfer images, contacts, and messages from your old phone to a new phone through USB cable or can wirelessly. But you need to download the Samsung Smart Switch app to your phone.

Backup Laptop
In Windows, you can back up your computer in several ways. Go to Control Panel>System and security>Backup and restore. If you never backed up before, select Setup backup and follow the steps in the wizard to complete the backup. You can also create a system image, the system image contains all the information on your pc at that particular time. You can access Create a system image from the left pane of the Backup and restore the window.

Factory Reset your Phone
Remove the SIM card(s) and memory card from your device. You can manually log out from your Google account using Setting>User accounts, select your account and tap Remove. Delete history and saved passwords from your browser. Open the Settings then System>Advanced>Reset. If you don’t see Advanced, tap Reset options then tap Erase all data (factory reset) then Reset the phone. If asks unlocking, enter your PIN, pattern, or password to unlock. To erase all data from the internal storage tap Erase Everything. After the erase operation tap to restart.

Upload junk data
You can add a layer of security to your files after deleting the files, photos, and videos from your phone. Before the factory reset your phone, delete all photos, videos and all other files from your phone, then copy-paste some useless videos to your phone or record some blank videos or photos using your phone camera and try to fill it with your internal storage. So if an unknown user tries to recover your data will get only those useless or blank files. As the old files are replaced with the new one, it is very difficult to recover old files without corruption.

Delete Your Phone from Sign-in device
In your Google account, go to security, under Your devices, you can see the devices that currently signed in to your account. Click Manage devices, to delete the device that you want, select the device setting and click sign out.

Worrying about stealing online data when browsing online? Now, browse internet privately and anonymously with VPN connection. VPN connection protects …

Worrying about stealing online data when browsing online? Now, browse internet privately and anonymously with VPN connection. VPN connection protects your data from prying eyes. wondering what is VPN? VPN stands for the Virtual private network (VPN). According to Wikipedia “A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network. A VPN is created by establishing a virtual point-to-point connection through the use of dedicated connections, virtual tunneling protocols, or traffic encryption.”

So VPN is used to create an encrypted secure tunnel between your computer and the server. With VPN, one can secure private network traffic over an unsecured network, such as the Internet. VPN did it through a secure mechanism for encrypting and encapsulating private network traffic and moving it through an intermediate network. Data is encrypted for confidentiality, and packets that might be intercepted on the shared or public network are indecipherable without the correct encryption keys. The data is also encapsulated, or wrapped, with an IP header containing routing information. In short sentence, a VPN is a point-to-point connection between your computer and a server.

To enable or disable proxy on Google Chrome

In your Chrome browser, on right, Click on Chrome Menu in the browser toolbar. then select ‘Settings’. Go to the bottom and click ‘Advanced’. In the ‘System’ section, click ‘Open proxy settings’ (click the right out arrow) that will open the Internet Properties window. Find the ‘Local Area Network (LAN) settings’, click on LAN settings. Under ‘Automatic configuration’, check or uncheck ‘Automatically detect settings’. Also, make sure ‘Use a proxy server for your LAN’ is unchecked too.

Some of the best VPN Services

IPVanish
(https://www.ipvanish.com)

When a device connects to an IPVanish server, the IPVanish app creates an encrypted tunnel through which all of the internet traffic passes. It also conceals your real IP address with a decoy. Your online data travels through an encrypted connection, it’s scrambled into an unreadable code. This makes your data inaccessible to unwanted onlookers. IPVanish also conceals your real IP address with a shared decoy.

NordVPN
(https://nordvpn.com)

Tired of surfing the web with someone constantly looking over your shoulder? NordVPN provides a private path through the Internet. All your traffic is protected every step of the way using military-grade encryption that even a supercomputer can’t crack, as per their claims. NordVPN uses double VPN technology to encrypts data, not once, but twice.

Purevpn
(https://www.purevpn.com)

Like other VPNs, it also sends the data safely using military-grade encryption and your real IP is replaced with an anonymous IP from their server. PureVPN operates a self-managed VPN network that currently stands at 750+ Servers in 140+ Countries.

By using a VPN we can avoid hackers, ISPs monitoring and Geo-tagging by third-parties and get the highest level of security in good speed. With VPN you can shield and share your emails, instant messages, personal photos, videos and other sensitive data without worrying about unauthorized access. The VPN prevents your ISP from inspecting your data including website URLs you have visited, videos, e-mails or software downloads!
